You know, we tend to focus on videos/bands/etc that get it right, so perhaps we should take a moment to examine what happens when a band and a video go wrong.  Oh, so wrong.

Wow, it finally happened… Somehow MySpace joined with LiveJournal and formed a band.  Perhaps now would be a good time for spontaneous deafness.  Does anyone know how to poke out one’s own mind’s eye?

Perhaps this is more powerful for a person who struggles with faith in religion and faith in people.  I found the image of people sitting in church with painted eyes on closed eyes to be frightningly accurate…

and no, it’s not just the church thing, although EZ_Bozy does make a great point.

If you read the lyrics, things kind of make sense. Except the circus people. I have no idea what is going on with them.

Will you guys shut up about this band? What have they ever done to you? Maybe they’ve been through a hard time or someone they know has and wanna tell the people (that have the same problem) that they’re not alone. I love the fact that people will put themselves or their loved ones in their songs. If you don’t like them fine, but please keep the rude comments to yourself, some people actualy like this band.

You got that this is a site that does editorial/opinion on everything it posts, right?

Did you know that right now there is someone who hate-hate-hates your favorite thing ever?  And that thing you hate the most?  Someone digs it enough to have a tattoo of it.

Just roll that around your skull for a sec.  I’ll wait.

  12. snakefan101 said:
    March 2nd, 2006 at 11:06 pm

Yeah, I know that but I don’t go around dissing what others like. I at least respect their opinion.

  13. .alphamonkey. said:

Technically, you’re dissing MY opinion.  If you hadn’t noticed, this site is 95% my opinion.

  14. daemoneyes said:
    March 2nd, 2006 at 11:54 pm

To be fair, I never actually made a comment about the band, or the song.  Unless of course there is an accordian actually played in the song.  And unless you’re a member of the band, or a close personal friend/family member of someone who is, why do you take it personally if someone else doesn’t particularly care for them?  And why should they not be allowed to say so?  Just to avoid offending you?  Like the Singular Simian says, this site is mostly people expressing their opinons.  If you can’t handle it, why visit the site?

I know a band who knows Panic! At The Disco. They can say that they don’t like the band but dissing them no. I don’t go around dissing bands I don’t like, I just say I don’t like them then drop the subject.

You know a band who knows the band?  WTF is this, 6 degrees of Kevin Bacon?  Who, I might add, also has a band I don’t care for.  But let me guess, you’re going to get righteously indignant about that, too.

This song was bbxc radio one’s album of the week not so long ago, seriously. I agree with Netera, the songs are catchy but I don’t see a lot of talent. The lead singer scares me abit too.

Holy crap, why won’t this song just go away? About 30 seconds in, you’ve already heard the whole song, just repeat in your head as necessary. Sorry, just a bit upset about it still playing on the radio heavily around here, and it keeps popping up on the right. I get touchy about these things, though, my music obsession knows no bounds. I just severly dislike bad music, is all. If you like this crap, more power to you. To each his own. Just. Don’t. Reproduce. People on average are already stupid enough without your kind contributing to the gene pool. Not that there’s anything wrong with that. I mean, with your help, we could finally get rid of that whole “5 second attention span” thing once and for all. Anything more than that, and you’d realize you were listening to the same verse over and over. (and over). I’m done now, had to get my rage on for a second. Anybody want some cookies?

bad taste does not mean stupid just ignorant. There are bands out there that are not on mtv. and they’re even more underground than what vh1 and mtv 2 have to offer!!! If you can believe that. Yes, they are good bands, just not popular.

Come on kids! Try a little harder and dig deep in what the music world has to offer! No longer do you need to be forced fed the outer crust, for beneath the surface lies the sweet sweet nectar of independent sound! Refuse the hand that feeds you and do it yourself! The good bands don’t find you, you listen and follow the sound that leads to them. Yes, cookies please

The circus people and the mimes are to represent the difference between the two families. Brendon Urie (singer) is acting as the Daniel Isaac’s (groom) little voice inside his head. Which is why Brendon turns into Daniel in the end.

I’m sorry your brain won’t work in the modern world, because P!ATD is modern and if you can’t except the new shit, then how will you ever except anything in life?

I’m sorry you can’t except them as a band at all, because they will be, and there is nothing you can do about it. I’ve excepted the fact that the bands I hate arn’t just gonna dissappear from the face of this Earth, no, because there are still people that like them.

  57. .alphamonkey. said:
    October 19th, 2006 at 1:29 am

Oh, no. My brain and the modern world get along just fine.  Why, it’s thoughts like the idea that this band will one day be nothing more than a trivia footnote on some ‘I Love the Aughts’ show that keep me warm at night.  I mean, let’s be clear here: These yahoos aren’t The Eagles.  They’re not going to engender my utter hatred while at the same time destroying a genre I love, while being one of the most popular acts of the day. They are just ridiculously lucky kids who achieved fame without ever having to, you know, earn it.

  58. snakefan101 said:
    October 19th, 2006 at 1:33 am

I do side with you on that. I do think it is ridiculous that they never played a show before getting signed and that there are tons of bands out there that deserved it more than them, but how are we to change what Pete Wentz did? If there is anyone here you are to hate for that hate Pete.

Well, to be honest, despite the criticisms displayed in this article - I’m gonna show them some support! Panic! are unique.  They incorporate so many influences into their music, the lyrics are genius, and the songs are so very catchy but aren’t too similar, which is what I love about them.

Okay, so perhaps their rise to fame wasn’t as strenuous as perhaps other bands, but they have still worked very hard for a bunch of teenagers just out of high school!  Little do many people know, but Brendon and Ryan were kicked out of their homes and had to struggle to pay the rent for a while, it’s not as if they packed a bag from home with all the family’s support and jetted off to sign a record deal…

Anyway, I think they have set the path for the discovery of future bands: the internet.  I reckon in the future most bands will put their stuff on the internet, where record producers will listen to it and decide whether to sign them or not…and then what will you guys have to complain about?? Hehe, just kidding.  Just showing a little support for them, as you say…I’m entitled to my opinion, right?

    Peace out.

Is that what happened to the graffiti creator comments? I wonder what they were searching for. The first logical though would be ‘graffiti’, but I’m not sure that they could form that word coherently, what with all the consonants, and letters that aren’t numbers.

If only there were some way we could use this power to serve mankind.

Maybe change the link to another, better video. The realization that songs sometimes have more than one verse may cause confusion in their ranks.
