Whether you’re a stay at home mum looking for a way to make some extra cash, you’re ready to pack in your 9-5 or you just want a side hustle, you may have recently heard about how many people are making a lot of money by working from home.

How do they do it? Well if you’re hoping to earn some money while staying at home, check out these tips:

Use betting sites

This is not for the faint-hearted, but if you’re a sports fan or love betting online, there are a number of excellent betting websites that can allow you to make a lot of money from home. You may need to get some practice in before you bet real money, but you’re likely to find that after a while it becomes a very lucrative side hustle. If you prefer casino games, then there are plenty of sites online that you can play games for real money on. Many of these sites offer perks like no deposit free spins on registration that allow you to try out the games and the sites first to see if you like them before signing up and gambling with money. As previously mentioned, this isn’t for the faint-hearted but, if you are willing to take the risk, the rewards could be great.

If you have kids at home, why not consider adding a few more? Not only will your kids benefit from socialising with a wide range of kids from different backgrounds, but they’ll be entertained and you’ll be able to make some money. Many parents find the cost of daycare too high, so by offering alternative you’re likely to be doing your community a favour.

Sell some stuff

Most of us have plenty of things we could sell and not even miss. Not only will this allow you to declutter your life, but this could provide you with some savings you can use to furnish a home office, or take some time off your 9-5 while you transition to working for yourself.

Some things you can think about selling include your second car (if you’re not using it much), outdoor equipment, dusty tools, old furniture, non-sentimental keepsakes like jewellery and watches, entertainment, electronic, out-of-fashion clothes, sporting goods you’re no longer using, and old kid’s toys and clothing.

Freelancing

There are many skills that you will have built during your day job that you can use as a freelancer. Writing is a popular way to earn money on the side, and although it can be difficult to get started, once you have a few clips and regular clients you can begin pitching for larger jobs.

Another excellent option is web design or development. There are many companies that are looking to hire experienced web developers and will allow you to work remotely, or you can freelance and just take the projects that interest you.

The gig economy is growing, and automation is going to take many of our jobs. Don’t be the last one in the office, consider how you can move into working for yourself instead.

Run a class

Another good way to leverage your knowledge or skills is by teaching a class. If you have a background in health and fitness, you could start an exercise class. Other options include foreign languages, yoga, dog training, dancing, child birthing, or musical instruments.
