Planning a family trip but need to pick a family-friendly destination? I’ve got you covered. There’s no doubt that some destinations are more suited to kids than others, so here are the best family destinations in Europe:

Copenhagen

Brilliantly coloured buildings, gorgeous landscapes and fairy-tale castles make Copenhagen an incredible place to visit with kids. Copenhagen is very kid-friendly and is also home to two of the oldest amusement parks in the world. Be sure to check out the national aquarium. The Blue Planet is the largest aquarium in Northern Europe, and a must-visit for both kids and parents. You’ll also find one of the largest open air museums in the world, along with a kids museum, zoo, and science center.

Paris

You’re probably already aware that Paris is Europe’s most visited city. But did you know that it’s also a stand-out choice for those wanting to travel with kids? From delicious treats to street performers, kids and adults will both delight in the city. Let the kids stretch their legs in Luxembourg Gardens where they can check out almost 100 statues, ride the carousel and even have sailboat races.

Sardinia

If you haven’t heard much about Sardinia before, you’ve been missing out. A family holiday in Sardinia is just what you need for the whole family to spend some quality time together. Just like the rest of Italy, this is a wonderful place for kids of all ages. Toddlers and babies are cooed over wherever you go, while teenagers and older kids have a wide variety of outdoor activities to choose from- from climbing to kayaking, learning to snorkel and dive, to horse riding along the beach.

Barcelona

Barcelona will delight your whole family, and has plenty to offer both kids and adults. Be sure to visit La Rambla, which is Barcelona’s most famous street, with street performers who juggle swords, swallow fire, and generally keep kids of all ages entertained. Feel like a bit of adventure? Head to Mirador de Colom and take a lift to the top for an amazing view of the harbour. Chocoholics will love the Museum of Chocolate, where you can taste and make chocolate.

Vienna

One of the reasons why Vienna is so family friendly? It has one of the best public transport systems in the world. Be sure to check out Schonbrunn palace, and do the palace tour. You’ll also find a children’s museum here, along with the oldest zoo in the world and plenty of gardens to explore.
