If you haven’t yet visited New York, you’re well overdue. When you visit the Big Apple, you’ll catch the “NYC bug’ and can expect to be hooked for life.

Here are just a few reasons why you should visit New York City this year:

Grand Central Station

From that infamous scene when Serena returned in Gossip Girl, to that scene from Madagascar, most of us have seen Grand Central Station on the big or small screen.

This city has some of the best attractions in the world, and if you’re planning to visit some of the New York attractions, Grand Central Station is a must. The building is gorgeous, so grab your camera and take a look, even if you’re not waiting for a train elsewhere.

Broadway

From The Lion King to Hairspray, Mamma Mia and Wicked, it’s hard not to find an incredible show that will captivate you in New York. There are also some great shows off-broadway if you’re hoping to save a few bucks and see something a little different. Don’t be surprised if the incredible acting, amazing costumes, and pure fun of the shows make you want to pack up and move to New York.

The Statue of Liberty

With everything that’s going on in the United States politically right now, this symbol of freedom and hope gives people from around the world a sense of excitement. You’ll get to take a boat out to the island and you can retrace the past of thousands of immigrants who arrived on Ellis Island in search of a better life.

Central Park

Central Park is amazing for a few reasons. Not only do you get to leave the city and enjoy the greenery, but you’ll also be able to truly feel like you’re in a country park. You’ll be able to take a breather from the hustle and bustle of the streets, grab a coffee or a pretzel, and stroll through the park. Head to the zoo, or spend some time chilling and people watching while you’re there.

The Views

The New York skyline continues to be one of the most famous in the world. This is the original skyscraper, and you can climb up to the top for incredible views over the city. Don’t forget your camera!

Times Square

Sure, most New Yorkers wouldn’t go near Times Square if you paid them, but there’s a reason why it’s so popular with tourists. The energy, the weirdly-dressed people, the noise, and all the flashing colours can make it a bit overwhelming. But once you visit Times Square, you’ll understand why New York is known as the city that never sleeps.

The Food

New York is well-known for its food. Whether you want to try the famous hot dogs on the street, the $1 pizza slices, or the many noodle bars waiting in Chinatown, you’ll find something delicious for every craving here.
