Looking to plan your next holiday? With all the turmoil in the world today, taking a holiday within Australia is a great idea. In fact, there’s been no better time to explore some of the places you’ve always wanted to go. So, this time, instead of going to the regular tourist spots like Sydney and the Gold Coast, why not explore somewhere with more natural beauty? That place is, of course, South Australia. Here are a few great holiday options to consider.

Visit the Barossa Valley

The Barossa Valley is known worldwide for its quality food, and especially it’s wine. The region is synonymous with winery tours and beautiful scenery. The best thing is, you can make it much more than just a day trip. There’s so much to see and do, including visiting quaint, traditional towns as you cruise through the rolling hills.

As one of Australia’s most well-known wine regions, you definitely won’t be disappointed if you enjoy a nice glass of red or white. But you’ll find there’s more to the Barossa Valley than just wine.

Take a Murray River Cruise

The Murray River is Australia’s longest waterway and stretches all the way from the Australian Alps in New South Wales to the ocean in South Australia. There are plenty of trips you can take from Adelaide, such as riding the Murray Princess, the southern hemisphere’s largest inland paddlewheeler.

Set off for 3, 4 or 7 nights on this beautiful vessel and take in the stunning scenery as you cruise along this must-see part of Australia.

The Eyre Peninsula

The Eyre Peninsula is somewhat of a gateway to the adventure of a lifetime. Due to its location, the Peninsula is one of Australia’s least crowded coastal stretches, and the views are spectacular. There’s no shortage of activities either, with surfing, snorkelling with giant cuttlefish, and even cage diving with sharks. If you go between May and October, you can even do some whale watching!

If you want to head inland you can experience a 4WD adventure in the Gawler Ranges or even set off across the Nullabor.

Discover Kangaroo Island

Kangaroo Island is one of Australia’s most beautiful places, with pristine beaches, stunning walks and an abundance of amazing Australian wildlife. Packed full of activities like surfing, snorkelling, kite-surfing, and paintball, there’s also plenty of more relaxing things to do, like exploring the beautiful coastland and dining on amazing local food and drinks. Words can’t possibly do justice to the beauty that is Kangaroo Island, and it has to be seen to be believed.

Mount Gambier

If you’re looking for the ultimate outdoor getaway, you’ll get more than you could imagine at the beautiful Mt Gambier. It’s an inactive volcano featuring four amazing crater lakes, located along the Limestone Coast. A visit during November might even give you a glimpse of the natural phenomenon at Blue Lake, where the water changes from a dull grey to an incredible, bright blue.

South Australia’s only World Heritage Site is also nearby, at Naracoorte Caves. Check out the bat colonies and underground wonderland for yourself. The region also has wineries, lagoons, salt-lakes and the incredible garden at Umpherston Sinkhole.

No matter what your style of holiday, you’ll find it in South Australia. So don’t delay, book your holiday today!
