Why I love using Airport Transfers

April 12, 2016

You may be surprised to learn that I’m a big fan of airport transfers. After all, I consider myself to be pretty frugal and independent when I travel. But you’ll soon learn why I consider airport transfers to be a must- especially when I’m brand new to a big city or arriving late at night.

If you’re planning to travel this year, you may also want to see exactly why I love using airport transfers, and here are just a few reasons why I’ll be an airport transfer fan for life:

I hate lines

I admit it, I’m ridiculously impatient. You’d think by now, after all of the travel I’ve done, in countries with terrible wifi, roads and more, I would have gained some patience.

Unfortunately, this has yet to happen. And since I can’t sleep on planes, by the time I arrive in a new country after an international flight, deal with customs and find my baggage, the absolute last thing I want to do is line up for a taxi or try and hunt down the closest public transport. I feel like a complete VIP when I can grab my bags and head straight into a car that’s waiting just for me.

My sense of direction is the worst

Yup, my sense of direction is the absolute worst- in fact nine times out of ten, if I think we need to go right, it’s guaranteed that we actually need to go left. There’s nothing worse than arriving into a confusing city and having to kick my jet-lagged brain into gear and get myself to my hotel. Especially when I usually won’t have wifi or 3g on my phone to be guided by Google. When I take an airport transfer I can guarantee that the driver will not only know the way to my address, but they’ll be a local and know the best way to avoid any traffic on the way.

It’s best to be safe

While I would like it to be different, unfortunately getting into a city late at night and trying to make my way to my hotel simply isn’t the safest. I have a pretty good sense of intuition, and the majority of people in every country will easily give you directions or help you when you’re lost, but unfortunately there are a small amount of people who will see you with a suitcase or backpack on your back and assume you’re an easy target. By taking an airport transfer you can be sure that the drivers have been well vetted and will get you to your hotel quickly and safely.

As you can see, there are many different reasons to get an airport transfer. They’re especially excellent for big cities and if you’re arriving into a destination late at night or traveling by yourself, and you’ll find that the stress and time you save is well worth the price.
