3 Interesting Careers You Might Not Have Considered

June 14, 2019

If you’re just finishing up at high school and wondering what you want to do every day for your career, then you might be finding it a little challenging to come up with an answer. The truth is you don’t have to figure it out right away, but it is  nice to have an idea or two in mind. If you’re on the hunt for some interesting career ideas you might not have thought of, check out these 3 ideas:

1. Dentist
You might think being a dentist is a horrible job, but the truth is that it’s a really meaningful job. You can help people take care of the health of their teeth, which is something that can make a dramatic difference in their quality of life. If you’ve ever had a really bad tooth ache or lost a filling, then you know how quickly tooth pain can become severe. Your smile is also something that either gives you more confidence, or strips your confidence away. Dentists are often given the task of improving someone’s smile, both in terms of function and how it looks. There are plenty of ways you can improve someone’s smile from a basic whitening procedure in the office to brighten and freshen up the teeth, right through to a more extreme make over such as a full set of veneers. 2. A Mover
If you love driving and enjoy being on the road, then becoming a mover could be a great option for you. Movers help people get from one place to another, and have the responsibility of getting all their prized possessions across the country. You’ll want to have at least an average or above average level of fitness if you want to be a mover as it is quite a physical job. There are two main types of movers: those who focus on local moving projects, or those who focus their time and work hours on more cross-country moving efforts. If you have young family or don’t enjoy driving, you might want to focus on moving within the same city. Taking a moving position that’s more national can be a great way to see more of your country and getting the opportunity to travel a little more. 3. A Pilot
One of my dream careers was to become a pilot. Unfortunately I quickly found out that my eyesight wasn’t quite up to the standard that pilots need to have. Thankfully these days there are options for those of us without perfect eyesight, such as lasik eye surgery to improve your vision. There are plenty of reasons why becoming a pilot is a wonderful career, but the main attraction for me was getting paid to travel. I really enjoy being on a plane and think it would be fascinating to clock into work, work a shift, and wind up on the other side of the world.
