For many of us, a campervan trip is the ultimate dream. You can explore a new region or country at your own leisure, stopping along the way to really soak in the sights. With all your things on board, you don’t have to worry about time consuming check-ins or check-outs. You only have to unpack and pack once. If a campervan trip is on your bucket list, check out these 4 tips for ensuring that everything goes smoothly and you get a great deal.

1. Book Online
As with most things, booking online allows you to quickly compare all your options and price point. Sites such as Compare and Choose provide you with plenty of campervan options to choose from, allowing you to easily pick the best option for you.. Not only that, you’ll g serious bucks when compared to showing up and trying to book something on the spot.

2. Play Around With Pick Up/Drop Off
If you’re on a tight budget, you might be surprised to learn that your pick up and drop off locations can make a considerable difference to the price. Choosing to pick up at an airport, for example, may come at a premium price than picking up in the city center. For this reason I always suggest playing around with the pick up and drop off locations so you can see what is the best deal. In general it will cost more if your pick up and drop up locations are different.

3. Be Realistic About Your Route
How much driving do you think you’re going to want to do on a daily basis? Well, half that! It’s one thing driving a long distance on a day and returning a few days later, but back to back driving can be absolutely exhausting. You’re going to want to plan lots of time for rest stops, enjoying the sights, and even some leisurely detours. I always suggest driving as little as possible, so that you have time for the unexpected.

4. Don’t Forget Snacks
As with any road trip, whether it’s a campervan adventure or a traditional road trip in the car, one of the most important aspects is decent snacks. There’s nothing worse than being in the middle of no where, thirsty and hungry with no idea when the next service station will appear. Try to think about snacks that will satisfy you, things that are either high in fat or protein. My favourites include nuts, trail mix, string cheese, protein bars… and, of course, some Malteasers.

A campervan adventure is one of the most fun ways to travel. Hopefully these tips ensure you have a wonderful time away.
