4 Ways to Spice Up Your Relationship

With the year coming to an end, there’s a good chance that your relationship isn’t quite where you’d like it to be. Whether you’ve been drowning in responsibilities, work, or even just lost in the chaos of day to day life, it’s easy to let your relationship slide to the bottom of the priorities. There are a few things you can easily change to change the dynamic in your relationship. The most important thing, and the thing to do first, is to focus on yourself. Are you getting enough time to do the things you love, the things that recharge your batteries? Without this essential time, you may struggle to have anything in your tank to give to others. Another thing that I find really important is scheduling in time together. It’s so easy to let your relationship slide when life gets crazy, but if you have regular commitments that you stick to, then you know you’ll always have that set time each week to work on your relationship. If you’re looking for some ways to spice up your relationship or marriage, keep reading to learn more.

1. Focus on Yourself
One of the best things you can do for your relationship and sex life is to make sure your own cup is filled. When you’re feeling energised, you’ll have more of yourself to give. There are some easy ways you can focus on yourself from taking up a new sport or hobby, meeting up with a friend for a drink or dinner, and even upgrading your wardrobe. If you don’t have a regular exercise routine in place, now could be the time to get it started. The more you invest in yourself and upgrade yourself, the more that energy will pass onto your personal relationships. One of the signs you’re in love is that you start putting the other person’s needs above your own and while that can be healthy in moderation, it can wind up being toxic if it’s a one way thing that goes on for too long.

2. Schedule It In
Sometimes it can be hard to find the time for your relationship, especially if you’ve been together a long time. You trust that it’s going to be okay, and focus on other areas of your life that feel more urgent. Well, this can be a recipe for a disaster. Everyone knows there’s nothing quite like multiple orgasm to help strengthen a couple’s bond and to bring them closer together. I’m not suggesting that you only schedule time in between the sheets in, but also schedule dates, weekly meetings to chat, a lunch date here and there. You might think it will come organically, but when you throw kids and responsibilities into the mix, it can be hard to find the time. Having it scheduled shows your partner that they’re a priority to you and that your relationship matters.

3. Mix Things Up
Variety is the spice of life, and that can feel harder when it’s someone you know for 10, 20, 30 years. There are so many things you can do to spice things up from trying a new location for intimacy, taking a trip somewhere, or even just playing boardgames. I know many of us are looking for ways to cut down costs and spending, so you don’t have to think only about expensive things. Borrow some board games from some friends, go somewhere cheap and hire some bicycles or kayaks and try something new. Bring a little adventure to your life so that it can feel fun and exciting again. You can even look into positions for a threesome if you want to make things really exciting.

4. Keep Dating Each Other
You know when you first start dating someone, and it’s all new and exciting. You bring your best self forward and you’re constantly thinking of ways to make them smile? Well, you need to find a way to bring that ‘newness’ and ‘novelty’ to the familiarity of your relationship. We often take things we have for granted, which is the worst thing you can do with your most precious and prized relationships. Keep putting your best foot forward and keep acting in a way that shows your partner how much you adore them. A bunch of flowers just because, making him a coffee in bed to start his day off right. Taking the kids for a morning so she can sleep in. It’s the small things that show you care, and by adding more into your day to day life you can work towards an incredible marriage that will hopefully last a lifetime.

Spicing up your relationship is an important part of keeping things happy and healthy. I hope these tips help you breathe some new life into things.
