In Your Suitcase

Packing a suitcase for Asia is pretty much like packing a suitcase for anywhere else, but there are a few items that you should be careful to include specifically for an Asia holiday. Deodorant, for example, is essential as the ones you’ll find in Asia often don’t contain antiperspirant. Sunscreen is also vital as the locals rarely use it and ladies should remember to pack sanitary supplies as it’s often hard to find these in more rural locations. Depending on where you go, you may also wish to include a mosquito net.

Medicines and First Aid

Depending on where you intend on visiting in Asia, you may find that your journey takes you far off the beaten track. Pharmacies may therefore be in short supply, so it’s important to pack a few important essentials. Refills of any regular medication you take, as well as travel sickness pills, paracetamol, plasters and bandages and sanitiser. You should also include toilet roll in your toiletries kit – to make it easier to pack, remove the cardboard tube and flatten.

Important Paperwork

As with any travel experience, you’ll need to make sure you have the right documents with you. This includes any travel insurance details, as you’ll need to be able to contact your provider in a hurry if you run into any misfortune.

Electronic Devices

You’ll come away from Asia with some wonderful memories but in order to share them with your friends you’ll need a sturdy camera that can be easily slipped into a pocket, ready to whip out at a moment’s notice whenever you happen to cross a beautiful scene. With regards to your mobile phone, make sure you’ve optimised it for use in Asia before you set off on your travels.
