Getting Married? Here are the tips you need to read

June 30, 2018

If you’re planning a wedding, you may find yourself quickly overwhelmed by tips from well-meaning friends and family members. Often, this advice will be confusing or contradictory. Planning a wedding can be the most stressful time of your life. Making sure you have the perfect wedding bands are one of the most important things that should be on your to-do list. There are some fabulous vintage wedding bands from Berganza. By sorting this out at the earliest stage you’ll save yourself a lot of stress.

Just pay someone to do that stuff

Pinterest would have you believe that even least artistic person can turn a mason jar into a centrepiece, but this is a good way to end up sobbing in a corner three days before your wedding.

Go ahead and budget for this kind of stuff. Sure, it may not have the “personal” touch associated with the Pinterest boards, but you can still have an amazing Bohemian chic wedding while finding tables and chairs for rent and splurging on candle holder rentals.

Cut your guest list

Not everyone will be able to bring a date to your wedding, and that’s ok. Unless you think you’re somehow going to come in under budget, you’ll need to make some tough choices. If your parents insist you invite every great aunt from their families, you’ll need to ask them to cough up and cover the extra expense.

Take the help

If you’re a bit of a control freak, this can be more challenging than it sounds. When someone has offered to help you with something that they have the expertise to handle, consider taking them up on the offer. This could be anything from making your wedding cake to logging your RSVPs.

Be firm

No one wants to get a reputation as a Bridezilla, but too many brides will go too far in the other direction and end up walked all over. Sure, you don’t need to be nasty, but when your florist tries to talk you into bright orange table overlays, or your cousin insists she bring her toddlers to your kid-free wedding, all you need to say is N.O.

Limit your options

Weddings are a huge industry, and whatever you’ve decided you need, you can bet there are hundreds of different options. If you’ve found something you like, look at two or three similar things and then make your choice. Trying to choose between 19 different pairs of wedding shoes just adds extra stress and anxiety that you really don’t need.

Be nice to your bridesmaids

Don’t pick bridesmaid dresses that you know would look great on you but may not look so great on them. You should be aiming to build your bridesmaids up so they too can look glorious and you can have amazing wedding photos where the whole wedding party looks happy and comfortable.
Remember, there are so many different body types that it’s unlikely your bridesmaids will all look great in a certain cut or design. It has recently become cool to have bridesmaid dresses that are all the same colour but slightly different, so consider allowing your bridesmaids to choose their own based on a few different options so they can look their best.
