1. Book in Advance
Car rental is not one of those things you want to leave until you show up and just see what happens. Booking a car rental in advance will not only ensure that there are actually cars left – some popular places during peak season can run out of cars – but it also means that you get a larger variety of cars to suit your needs. You might be surprised to find that it can be considerably more expensive trying to rent on the spot as there are usually great offers online.
2. Be Sure You Can Drive Legally
The USA is so big that often the rules and regulations vary considerably from State to State. You’re going to want to Google the laws of the State/s you’re planning to rent in to be sure you’re fine to drive with your country’s license. You may have to get an International Drivers Permit, so be sure to check in advance as if you show up without the correct requirements you may be denied car rental.
